Full Name: Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing

Canon Background:22 year-old Sir Integra Hellsing is the last surviving member of her family. She is the director of the Hellsing Organization and a member of the Royal Order of Protestant Knights, as well as the master of the Hellsing organization's vampire and secret weapon, the vampire Alucard.

After her father dies, Integra, then 12, is hunted down and nearly slaughtered by her greedy uncle Richard, a man who wants the Hellsing power to himself. In running from him, she seeks out a cell in the Hellsing dungeon—a place where her father told her that help would be should she need it. She stumbles upon what seems to be a dried up corpse, a corpse that happens to be the vampire Alucard. The vampire is reanimated when Richard, an incredibly poor shot, spills Integra’s blood. Alucard effectively takes care of Richard’s lackeys, leaving Integra to dispatch her uncle, which she does.

The vampire pledges his service to his new, soon to be knighted master, and they embark upon ten years of fighting the evils of vampirism in Britain. The rest of Hellsing canon involves Nazis and werewolves and psycho Catholic armies.

Personality: Though she generally presents herself as well-collected, Integra is prone to emotional outbursts, usually in the form of fits of anger. She rarely, however, allows her emotions to get in the way of business. Integra is bold and willful, as well as charismatic; however, as a young leader, there are times when she can be privately unsure of herself. She is religious but not to a fanatical extent, and she is very patriotic.

AU Background: Integra Hellsing was born in Asgard on the planet Æsir, the largest planet in the Vidar system; however, she only remembers Glasir as her home. When her father took up a post as the head of security on the station, her mother was recently deceased and she was only an infant. Integra grew up under her father’s watchful eyes and strict teaching.
When she was twelve, Integra’s father died of an illness that he had been combating long term. She was left in the care of his brother, Richard with clear wishes that he was to help continue training her to become the new head of station security when she came of age.

Even as a child, Integra trained with her father when he found it necessary. He taught her to shoot with deadly accuracy, and he taught her to rely on her own abilities. Arthur Hellsing was notorious for his dislike of the Iduna Project; he had no part in it, and he would not allow any modifications to be made to Integra. Consequently, Integra developed the same disdain for the project’s handiwork.

It was under Richard Hellsing that security on the station began to slide. Glasir began to become the place of its reputation today, a place where dark and light meet. And Richard had absolutely no intentions of letting his young niece take the position he found so comfortable. He hatched a plot to have Integra killed near the time she turned 18; it would not matter whether it looked like an accident or not, as he knew he could make whatever cover up measures that were needed happen.

Integra, however, was alerted to this plan by Alucard—a former criminal rehabilitated by and in her father’s service. With his help, she eliminated Richard and his supporters, taking on her rightful role as her father’s successor.

After managing the station’s security for four years, Integra still remains hopeful for the station’s future, and she does everything she can to ensure order and tranquility. She is one of the few.
